THE SHAMROCK FOUNDATION is a 501c3, Self Supporting nonprofit organization that financially assists families with children battling cancer. We have been incorporated since 1976, but through the tireless efforts of our board and volunteers, we have already managed to distribute over 6,000,000 to families in need. We continue to grow as an organization, and with the continued dedication of our community, there is no end in sight.
The Shamrock Foundation hopes to ease the financial stress brought on by childhood cancer so that the family is better able to focus on the child throughout their illness during this difficult time We focus all our energy on trying to help these families by not only providing financial assistance, but by also fostering a sense of community .Often, treatment for cancer in children is deemed "experimental", and is thus not covered by insurance. This, coupled with the already burdensome medical bills associated with cancer, leads to an enormous amount of additional stress for the family. Due to these expenses, parents often cannot afford to take any additional time off to spend with their children during their ordeal. Not only that, but the additional expenses can also lead to a loss of car or residence, and can even prevent the child from receiving experimental treatments that could lead to a cure.
In an effort to help increase understanding, and to keep the bright faces and inspirational words of these brave children fresh in our minds, we have put some images and family stories. Please click on the links on Our AngleLink Page.
